ACTION REQUIRED: Provisional Nurse Program Renewal

This is your reminder that you are currently still in the Provisional Nurse Program and your provisional permit will require renewal on {{FormatDate ProvisionalTermEnd}} if you wish to remain on the Provisional Registrar for the remainder of the 12-month total limit.

If you would like to stay on the Provisional Register for another term of 6 months, click here: Renew Program.

If you would like to leave the Provisional Register, click here: Leave Program.

If we do not receive your response to the renewal by the deadline above, you will be removed from the Provisional Nurse Program and will have your provisional permit (and the ability to practice under supervision) revoked. If this occurs, you may email registration@nurses.ab.ca to request to rejoin the program.

When you write and pass your registration exam, you will immediately leave the provisional register and be granted a full practice permit.

Registration exams are designed to ensure that every new nurse is competent to practice as a registered nurse (RN) and it is a mandatory step to receiving your full practice permit. The process of writing your exam requires a multi-step authentication process between the CRNA, as the regulatory body, and Pearson VUE, as the exam testing authority. When you are prepared to write your exam, please click here for the Request NCLEX-RN Exam registrant service. This service will begin the Eligibility and Authorization to Test (ATT) processes.

If you are not yet prepared to write your exam, the CRNA will continue to send emails to remind you of the time you have left on the provisional register.
